Founder: David Klingbeil

Founded by David Klingbeil, Phoenix Wilderness Adventures emerges from over a decade of deep connection with the Sierra Ancha Mountain Range, nestled within the vast Tonto National Forest—one of the largest National Forests in the United States. David, alongside his family, have not just lived in this remote paradise; they have been stewards of its untouched beauty and rich diversity.

David, initially serving as a Wilderness Ranger, dedicated himself to preserving the integrity of this enchanting landscape, believing it to be a national treasure. His journey in wilderness preservation and adventure tourism took a significant turn during a period of budget constraints when he joined CenterFocus Adventures. There, as the Manager and Lead Guide for Canyoneering, he deepened his commitment to sharing the wonders of Sierra Ancha.

Over the years, as the family grew and numerous clients explored the canyons with us, we realized the profound joy and lasting memories these adventures fostered. This realization, coupled with our passion for delivering happiness and excitement through outdoor experiences, led us to embrace the opportunity to take over the east side of CenterFocus Adventures. Thus, Phoenix Wilderness Adventures was born.

Continuing the legacy of excellence set by CenterFocus, Phoenix Wilderness Adventures is your gateway to unparalleled adventure. Our expertise in ensuring both safety and thrill allows us to offer a wide range of activities set against the backdrop of Arizona’s diverse landscapes. From the arid expanses of the Sonoran Desert to the lush heights of Ponderosa Pines, all within a 15-minute journey of each other, our offerings are truly unique.

Whether you’re drawn to the adrenaline rush of canyoneering, the challenge of rock climbing, or the tranquility of paddleboarding and kayaking, we provide tailored single or multi-day adventures. With options for camping and lodging accommodations, your adventure awaits in this prime destination.

Join us at Phoenix Wilderness Adventures for an experience that promises not just excitement, but a journey into the heart of the wilderness where every adventure is a story waiting to be told.
